Progress Update!
Hey there people,
As you’ve probably noticed if you’ve been by here recently, it’s been quite a while since I last blogged, in fact it’s the first time since I started this blog, that I’ve let a month go by without blogging!
I’ve just been really concentrating on building my list this past 30 days, because I’m doing everything I can to try and make 2000 subscribers by April 1st… That was part of my first goal on my last post My Goals For 2010.
So far so good, I’ve gone from 345 to just over 900 subscribers since I last blogged, so I’m certainly getting there.
I’m treating it as a bit of a game where 2000 is the number of points I need to get to “the next level”, and I must say I’m quite enjoying the challenge, and watching the numbers grow each day.
Of course we all know it’s not a game, and what this is actually doing is building the foundations of my business, and as any Internet Marketer will tell you, their subscriber list is the main part of their business, which doubles up as a push button traffic solution… You can’t get much better than that, FREE traffic at will.
Not only that, I’ve also made my first 4 sales, as an affiliate. Two of these were signups for 14 day trial offers that didn’t stick, but there’s still another ongoing that may stay on for the first months training.
The other sale was a one time offer sale from someone who signed up through me on a JV Giveaway Event, and the best part was i got 100% commission on it.
Those sales were the proof I’ve been waiting for, the small amount the sales were worth is irrelevant to me, it’s enough for me to truly see the massive potential and power of Internet Marketing and Listbuilding combined, and things can only get bigger and better… And now I’ve seen for myself that this stuff really does work if you stick at it.
Also in the month of January I got my first product on Clickbank, I’ve not really done much to promote it yet, and it’s not getting as much traffic from the Clickbank Market Place as I would like, but it’s a start and another big chunk of progress for me to look at and feel proud of.
It’s a very good traffic related product that I bought private rights to, I’ll probably blog about it soon once I’ve seeked some professional advice on what I should be doing next with it. I already have a pretty good idea of what I should be doing with it, I’ve just not had the time, so I may end up outsourcing to help get the word out.
I’ll keep you posted on my progress with that too.
I’m also pleased to announce that my Traffic Guide For Newbies eBook, has now had well over 1000 downloads, so I can safely say that writing your own eBook/Report is definitely worth the time and effort, especailly when you consider that each subscriber on your list, is worth $1 per month on average over time.
If you’d like to hear more about the steps I’ve taken to get my list to where it is now, please leave a comment below, and I’ll put something together on it for my next post.
If you have any other questions just let me know.

Hi Paul,
I’m just starting to read your “Traffic Guide for Newbies.” I really like what I see so far. I’m sure the rest will be great. I’m wondering about “Commentluv” I see the plug in is for wordpress, however my first blog is powered by B2evolution. Any ideas if the plug in would still work? I know I should have gone with WordPress and that why I use it on my second site.
Thanks
James
James Brown´s last blog ..A Little Office Help!
Hi James,
Firstly thanks for stopping by and leaving me a comment, I’m glad you enjoying reading my book.
I’ve just checked the about page on the Comluv site, and it mentions that it is compatible with these other platforms:
Blogger, Typepad, GoDaddy Blogs, Drupal and Expression Engine.
But it doesn’t look like B”evolution is compatible from what I can tell.
Take a look at the about page here => http://comluv.com/about/
You could also try contacting their support and ask them if they plan to make it compatible with that blog platform, it’s worth a try I’d say.
Hope that helps,
Paul

I’d also be interested in your traffic outsourcing methods when you implement them and how they’ll work out.
I always enjoy visiting and reading your posts.

I’ll be paying you a visit at your blog very soon.

Hi there,
I just started reading your book and am pretty excited that you’re sharing this info for free. I’m very compassionate about making it online but have no extra money to be investing in a bunch of nowhere stuff. I know that people want the ebooks that I’m selling but I can’t afford to advertise with Google and others like it. So I’m trying everything I can to get my site out there without spending any money. I’m hopeful that I will learn enough from your book to at least get some kind of an income coming in. Thanks. By the way, I did set up my blog at Blogspot.com How do I get people to come to it?
Hi there Trannee,
If you follow the methods that I talk about in my traffic ebook, then you will start to see traffic coming your way soon.
It’s best to have your own WordPress self hosted blog really, as people will take you more seriously and see you are here to stay.
However, if you are on Blogspot then I’m sure their are other blogs within their network, that are in the same niche as you…
So what I would first is start visiting some of the blogs on Blogspot in your niche, and leave comments linking back to your blog or profile. (I’m not sure how comments work on Blogspot properly)
Next join some Blog networking sites like MyBlogLog.com and BlogCatalog.com, and look up people in your niche and visit and comment on their blogs, leaving your blog url in the correct information fields when you submit your comment.
I could go on but I explain all this indepth in my Traffic Guide For Newbies ebook, which you already have.
Hope that helps,
Paul
Hello Paul
Its seem a long road at the start, you have to go through the big learning curve and stick with it. If it was that easy everybody would be setting up in business online, BUT only if the knew, building any type of business takes 2 to 3 yrs or more, but putting in the hours will have its reward $$$$$$$$$$$.
In about 6 wks I will be looking for JV partners i will skype you and have a chat with you
speak soon

Hi Paul,
I was just reading your ‘Traffic Guide for Newbie’ ebook and got to page 16 where you asked the readers to leave a comment on your latest post.
So, here I am.. crossing my fingers for a small traffic rush to my blog. lol! And thank god I got myself a domain with a very good search stats!
Can’t wait to finish reading your book. Cheers!
Shafina
Hi Shafina,
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment, I’m glad to hear you are enjoying reading my book.
Have you started commenting on all the blogs in your niche yet?… That is the best way to get some targeted traffic to your blog.
Another thing I would recommend is that you write a short ebook like I have, with some useful information concerning your niche topic…
Then start get signed up to Aweber or similar, and then submit your new book in JV Giveaway events to start building a list of targeted subscribers… Then whenever you want to drive traffic to your blog, just send your subscribers an email, and there you go.
Hi Paul
Just downloaded your “Traffic Guide” and here I am with a nice comment.
“Traffic Guide For Newbies eBook, has now had well over 1000 downloads” that’s impressive and having dipped in and read a few sections of your eBook I would recommend it to anyone.
Another great thing about your site… you use CommentLuv.
Best plugin ever and good to see that you mention it in your book.
Enought talk… back to the book.

Hi Tom,
Yeah things are definitely starting to look up the last few weeks, I even had a good few more sales last week, which I was over the moon about.
The JV Giveaways are certainly a help, and I’d recommend anyone building a list to get a gift in as many as you can, it’s definitely worth it seeing as they’re free to enter.
Good luck with your business and listbuilding, I’m sure you’ll be back on track in no time.
Take care,
Paul
Congratulations on the success with building your list and having mad your first affiliate sales. I remember how exciting this was
.
Hi there,
Thanks for the nice comment, yes those first sales are very exciting, aren’t they?
Take care,
Paul
Hi Paul
Good to hear you are still plugging away like myself. I have a product in me in the making but its still in its draft form.
I am near the 2000 mark myself now but will probably slow right down now due to the product creation activities ahead of me.
I will be taking the best bits of monetising to your list building efforts to retaining your lists which I believe is probably one of the most overlooked aspects of this business.
Take care speak soon

Hi Paul,
Yeah the sales definitely motivated me to keep moving forward.
I just need to work on my sales funnel now, and I’m just in the process of creating a new product, which is the reason I didn’t respond here sooner.
We’ve spoken since you posted this comment now, but yes I’ll definitely try and keep in touch with you more regularly, things have just been busy lately, and I’ve not been managing my time as well as I should have.

Hiya Paul!
I’m glad to see you’re still building your list man. I remember swapping with you awhile back when I first started and you helped me out!
Congrats on making your first sales too. It’s always the little things that keeps a man going in this business. By the way, what product is it that you have on Clickbank? I’ll take a look and consider promoting it to my list for the benefit of both of us!
God Bless,

Hi Jeffery,
Thanks, I remember swapping with you back when I first started adswapping back in January.
