My First EVER Video On The Internet !!!
Well after much stress &and many takes I finally managed to record my very first video. I decided I might as well make this a welcome video for my blog, so you will now see this video in my sidebar over to the right.
As you will probably be bale to tell while watching it, I was very nervous. I’ve never EVER recorded a video of myself, in all my life, so this was a pretty big deal for me. I’m really glad that I decided to take action and just get it done though, I actually kind of held myself accountable in a comment on fellow student, David Walker’s blog, although I didn’t fully commit & say I’d definitely get one done. But that comment made me feel that, because I’d said that I would practice & try to produce something, I felt that I MUST get a video uploaded today, even if it gave me a headache in the doing. (which it did)
The main thing is I’ve done my first video, and took myself WAY out of my comfort zone, which is a massive achievement for me, as I actually have an anxiety disorder which I’ve let stop me from doing things in the past. I don’t know what is, but joining the Alex Jeffreys Coaching program has really done something for my well being, I honestly haven’t felt so good about myself in years. Even my friends and family have noticed the change in me, and have commented a few times as to how much more confident and upbeat I seem.
We are just about halfway through the coaching now, although their will be many bonuses after that. We also have access to the private members forum for life, which the value of is just priceless if you ask me. Great things are happening now, and there are more great things to come for everyone involved in this coaching.
Now this doesn’t mean that if you weren’t able to get on the coaching, that you need to get left behind, as I said in the video I’ll be sharing a lot of what I learn right here on this blog. And the bits that aren’t shared here will be shared in free reports, so there’s no need for anyone to get left behind. If you have any questions at all, just leave a comment in one of my posts on this blog, and I’ll do my best to help you.
I want to help as many people as I can acheive what I’m achieving now, okay I’m not making any money right now, but I’m moving in a forward direction, little by little. I’m doing this all at my own pace, and my main focus is building my list. And list building is where your focus should be too.
So my message is this, don’t hold back, don’t let your fears get in the way. Take action on something like I’ve today with my first video, and prepare to be amazed at yourself.
Paul.
P.S.
I’d love to hear what you think, good or bad. So please leave your comments below… Thanks
EDIT: 6th August 2009
When I got up this morning I decided that I wanted to have a try at improving on the first video, so here’s the result of that.
It actually didn’t take many takes this time, as I already knew what I wanted to say. I think this is a slight improvement on the first video, apart from the part where I had to cough..
What I will say as words of encouragement for those yet to get their video up, it does get easier with each video you make. I think I just need to work on sounding more natural in the way I speak now.

Hi Paul,
Congrats on getting your first ever video done! That’s awesome. Definitely a huge step in the right direction. I still have to do mine. The thought of it scares me. Way out of my comfort zone too. I don’t have a video camera yet, but I plan to get one this weekend. Hopefully by Saturday night I’ll have my first up. Yikes.
I’m looking forward to following your progress.
Thanks, Heidi
Well done mate – it shows you have subscribed to the getting it working.
I’m sure you’ll look back at this as the milestone of getting it started.
I as well as yourself and many others need to just keep practising, I havent got my camera out yet but intend to as my next task.
Regards
Pete
@Heidi, I was lucky enough to have recently bought a video camera before the coaching, so it was one less think to think about.
@Peter, Yes I already feel I’ve reached the first milestone by getting my first video up. My video could do with improving in a lot of departments, and I do feel a little embarrassed when I watch it. I just went off what Alex has been telling us, “don’t get it right, just get it going”, I can perfect it & replace with a better welcome video at a later date. I will just keep practising like you say.
I look forward to watching both your videos soon.
Paul.
Hi Paul,
It’s great to see you have taken action and got some videos online. Oh, and thank you for mentioning me in your post as well!
Your second video is a lot better than the first, you seem so much more relaxed. Just goes to prove doing videos gets easier with time and practice so just imagine how good you are going to be in a few months!
BTW, I subscribed to your Youtube channel so please feel free to do the same for me!
David
Thanks for the great comment David, I did feel a fair bit more relaxed in the second video which I made this morning, the first video was made quite late at night. I also stood up to do the second the video.
Thanks for subscribing to my brand new YouTube channel, I will definitely do the same in return.
Thanks,
Paul.
Hey Paul,
Way to go-that is really scary, isn’t it? I don’t have any video up on my blog yet, but I did 2 videos to promote Global Resorts Network & it literally took me 2 days for each one. It was awful-I had myself a nervous wreck…so I know how you felt! You did a great job, though & you’ve overcome yet one more thing!
Keep up the great work, Paul-take care,
Joann
I like the before and after thing Paul;…an ace of an improvement. I noticed your back ground had changed and it was blue which is a good color for sales. The lighting was much more favorable and flattering this time around. You were more awake. Yes…you were more relaxed because your video cherry was broken. keep em’ comin’
Temogen
Thanks for your words and encouragement, Joann & Temogen.
Hey Paul,
There’s a big ‘positive’ difference between your first video and you second. You’ve obviously watched it yourself and chaged a few things.
My first dozen or so takes went in the trash – so well done for being bold and posting your first efforts here.
I predict that in a few weeks time, we won’t recognise you. Keep pushing forward Paul – your taking action, which means that you’re heading in the right direction.
Keep in touch,
Andrew.
Hey Paul
Mate how are ya??

marcus
Great stuff!!
Hey Marcus,
I found it a bit nerve racking, just glad I’ve got over the hard part and made my first couple, and put them online for the world to see.
I’m sure things will become easier from here on out.
Thanks for the comment & visit.
Paul.
Hey Andrew,
Yeah I watched the first video back, and tried to change the things I didn’t like about it, I’m much more pleased with the second attempt, although there is still a lot there to improve on.
So next time I’ll have to work on the things I didn’t like about the second attempt, hopefully I’ll improve again?
Thanks for the comment,
Paul.
Paul my man
No problem look man its hard getting in front of the camera but look at us we are doing it my friend. We taking action.

marcus
Hey Paul,
You’re doing great! Just getting in front of that camera is such a massive step
As others have said, your second video is MUCH more relaxed than the first. Just keep practicing, they will get better and better (that’s what I keep telling myself anyway!!)
I know how much this pushes you out of your comfort zone, I am the same
Anyway, keep in touch
Paul
Hey Paul,
Thanks for dropping by, I’ve actually just been watching one of your videos not long ago, on your YouTube channel.
Thanks for your words of encouragement, that goes to everyone else to, it really helps.
I’m going to visit your blog now.
Paul.
Hey Paul, those are some great videos, man!
Doing these on a consistent basis is going to allow you to improve SO MUCH, you won’t even realize you are until you look back in weeks, if not days to come!
Just as you said, it’s all about going out of your comfort zone and trying things that you’ve never done. You’ll surprise yourself!
Btw, I did already see an improvement in your 2nd video. It’s working!
Talk soon, bro.
Joe
Thanks Joe, yeah I’m going to practice as often as possible.
You’re doing great with your videos.
Cheers!
Paul.
Great job Paul! I am excited for you! I have actually been procrastinating on making my first video, I might just do it right now! I have made video’s of my kids and vacations and things like that, but I don’t even like the sound of my own voice! Oh, and you are now the first person (who’s not related to me!) to know that! So, if you get a minute someday stop by my blog, I will be following you. I actually read a post you left on Jason James blog, that’s how I found you…Good-luck and God Bless you and yours! Hi Bertram,
You should definitely just go and take action and get your first video made. Even if you don’t post it online, at least start practising. And you never know, you might just pull off something you’re slightly happy with.
I say slightly happy with, because I know from experience that we are never happy with the result of a video starring ourselves. You’ll always find something you don’t like.
The nest thing to do is just watch it back once, and get it on YouTube. I’m really embarrassed with my videos, and have been tempted to pull them down. But I’m going to leave them up for now, as it’s part of my journey. And hopefully I will be able to look back one day and see have much better I have become in front of the camera?
And you’re not alone as far not liking the sound of your own voice, join the club.
I wish I had a different accent sometimes, and voice tone. Not to mention my throat always seems to have a frog stuck in it
, which means I have to cough a lot when speaking.
Anyway, thanks for dropping by mate and leaving me a comment.
I’ll drop by your blog now!
Paul.
Edit: Unfortunately I couldn’t leave a very long comment, something you have installed on your blog prevented me from writing any more? It said something about features disabled to prevent plagiarism? Every time I tried to type more the dialog box came up and said that.
