The First Day, Of The Rest Of My Life.
Hey everyone!
Yes today is the first day, of the rest of my life, & also my first blog post here.. Yay!
Let me introduce myself, my name is Paul Lear & I’m 27 years old. I have started this blog to document my journey as I learn internet marketing, from my Mentor, Alex Jeffreys. If you haven’t heard of Alex Jeffreys, just run his name by google, & you’ll find plenty of results for him. I was lucky enough to get a place on his coaching program, Marketing With Alex 2.0.
So why is today the first day, of the rest of my life? Well the first thing Alex has taught us, is that in order to succeed we need to have a plan, & then work at that plan little by little, as fast or as slow as you want, & eventually you will see the end goal. That’s where I was going wrong before, I didn’t have any plan. So that is exactly what I have started to do, & the first thing on my list is to get this blog set up, which as you can see it is now under way. It’s far from perfect but it’s all about making a start & perfecting it later, or as Alex would say, “speed up the learning process – learn as you apply”. I’m not sure if that was his exact words, but I’ve added quotation marks anyway.
So I’m doing well so far today, these were my goals for today, & I only planned what I knew I’d have time to do:
Purchase Paul-Lear.com – Done
Update my domain name servers to point at my hosts name servers. -Done
Install WordPress & add a new theme – Done
Make first post on blog – In progress as I type
![]()
Create about Me Page – Will be done after I finish typing this post.
So there you go, not really a lot of goals to get done for today, but I didn’t start on them until 5pm, & I’ve had a few distractions. But I remained focused on what I had to do every time I returned to my desk, & I got everything done that I wanted to do. There was also a few personal things on my “To Do” list for today as well, I’ve just not added them here as it wasn’t relevant. Now I probably wouldn’t have got all these things done if I didn’t have my main plan & daily goals to keep me on track. I know this was only a very small part of my plan, but each day I will set different goals/tasks from my main plan, as my goals for that day, the goals I choose will depend how important I have ordered them. So before I finish this post I want to leave you with these 3 quotes:
“Plan ahead for success.” ~Alex Jeffreys
“The greatest things ever done on Earth have been done little by little.” ~William Jennings Bryan
“To make something big and beautiful, we have to take small steps. Doing so, we look back to see what we did with a smile.” ~Caitlyn Mcdougall
Okay, I’m going to wrap this post up here as it is nearly 11pm & I have the About Me page to write now. But just think about what I have talked about in this post, & think about those quotes. I will be making another post shortly, where I will be going further into what I have learned from the first module of the Marketing With Alex coaching, & how it has helped me become 95% more productive than normal, yes I was very lazy before I started being coached, more on that soon.
Until next time,
Paul.

Thanks for the comment, Marcus, it’s my first one!
I totally agree with you, I have another blog which I started before this, http://online-auction-success.com, but like you said with yours, it just didn’t have any direction. I’m going to relaunch that blog once I’ve learnt what to do more. But I’m going to just focus on this blog right now, because like you say, we are now positioning & branding ourselves.
I will definitely keep in touch
Good luck to you too,
Paul.
Hi Paul,
Great post…..seems we have all being inthe same boat in the past but the future is planning and taking action as you have shown. Awesome!
Lets keep in touch, help each other along the way and make it happen
Be in touch soon!
Sean
Hey Paul,
You are off to a good start! It is really exciting times right now, being in this coaching. I can’t wait to get to know everyone in the course better and really dig deep in to what Alex has to offer.
Hi Paul,
David here, a fellow student of Alex Jeffreys.
You have a great looking blog and this is a very good first post. My current blog is probably my third *real* attempt at running a personal blog and you are on the right track on your first go, so keep up the good work and I look forward to more of what you have to offer.
Keep in touch.
David
Thanks for your kind comments, David, Matt & Sean. I’ve not seen your blog yet David, I’m going to check it out now.
Hey Paul,
Nice blog theme. It looks familiar. Oh, yeah it looks like mine just a different color. lol! The Flexibility theme is great. I will eventually upgrade to Flexsqueeze.
You’ve now positioned yourself to be successful by going out and making Alex your mentor. He’s my mentor also as I was in his first coaching program.
I’m going around and introducing myself to some of his new students. If you run into problems and I can help let me know and I’ll see what I can do.
Later,
Jeff Sargent
Thanks Jeff, very nice of you to come & introduce yourself, I’ll come & visit your blog when I’m on my next round of blog commenting.
I like this theme too, I look forward to seeing what you’ve done with yours, as the name suggests, it is very flexible.
Paul.
Hi Paul,
It is nice to meet you and I look forward to visiting your blog. Your first post shows how focused you have become.
Taking small steps,
~ Julie
